Bethesda, Maryland / One enduring fly

A little life.
Entirely its own.

It finds sweetness. It cleans its wings. It rests beneath a leaf. The day changes, the weather comes through, and it carries on.

Learning through living

Getting to know
its own wings.

A movement is a small experiment: predict, try, notice, adjust. What it learns stays with this same fly.

—movement comparisons saved
—prediction error · lower is closer
—wing condition

Finding what works.

Waiting for its first movement observations…

Expect. Notice. Adjust.

Comparing its expectations with the garden.

A little wear, a little rest.

Learning what its wings and legs allow.

What moved out there?

Watching for movement that its own actions cannot explain.

What do these observations mean?

This is a simple learning simulation. It compares predicted movement with sensed position, then saves what happened. Trial counts show experience, rather than a score or a measure of intelligence.

Prediction error is measured against the garden's scale. Smaller errors mean closer predictions. Conditions matter: cold, fatigue, wet wings and wear can change what a movement achieves. Unfamiliar conditions begin uncertain, and estimates improve through experience.
